Double IPA

Our Double India Pale Ale is bigger in hop character and alcohol than our Extra Pale Ale. It is sure to please even the most discerning hop-head! Also known as Imperial IPA, this intensely hoppy, yet very drinkable beer lets the malty characteristics take a step back and allows the hops to really shine. Brewed with almost two (2) pounds of hops per barrel and left unfiltered, Six Row Double IPA showcases the citrusy and piney characteristics of the Columbus, Centennial, and Chinook hops. Double IPA is served in a 10oz snifter.

(ABV: 8.4%, Bitterness Units: 68 IBUs, Color 8.0, Original Gravity: 18 degrees Plato.)

Whale

What can we say about this one? A bit of luck meets years of homebrewing experience? When it came time to test out our brewing system for the first time, we needed something that we wouldn't feel too bad about dumping if we had equipment troubles. One of our brewers had enough malt in his homebrew stock, which unfortunately wasn't being used due to all his spare time being spent helping get Six Row started, for a batch.

However, it was a bit of a motley collection of ten (yes, ten!) malts, everything from wheat to pale to crystal to aromatic to our namesake. With a little supplemental malt from the local homebrew store, some Cascade and Goldings hops and a blend of US ale yeasts, the Whale (wheat/pale) ale was born. Pale copper in color, this is an interesting beer that has already been enjoyed by many. Let us know how you would describe it.

(ABV: 5.47%, Bitterness Units: 31.4 IBUs, Color: 5.3, Original Gravity: 12.8 degrees Plato)

Strong Porter

Dark, malty, chocolaty, great hop aroma; all can be said of Six Row's Strong Porter. Strong because of the increased alcohol content, hop bitterness and aroma. The Strong Porter was brewed with authentic English malt alongside Black and Chocolate malt to add complexity. The deepness of the malt is complimented by East Kent Goldings and Fuggle hops to balance the slight sweetness typical of traditional English Porters.

(ABV: 5.22% , Bitterness Units: 36.7 IBU's, Color: 34.4, Original Gravity: 13.97 degrees Plato)

Honey Weizen

Our Honey Weizen is an easy-drinking wheat beer made with a generous portion of honey from Missouri Honey in Florissant, Missouri! With a combination of white wheat malt, honey malt, and locally produced honey, the unfiltered Honey Weizen is a great example of a traditional wheat beer with a twist. The sweetness of the honey is balanced by Saaz hops, sure to please the discerning wheat beer lover and craft beer novice alike.

(ABV: 5.6%, Bitterness Units: 13.7 IBUs, Color: 5.0, Original Gravity: 12.10 degrees Plato)

Pre Prohibition Pilsner

This lager provides a two-fold take on brewing history. First, it is being formulated as it would have been at the turn of the last
century, using the microbrewery’s namesake six row barley, corn, and noble hops. Second, the lager is being brewed in Six Row’s
Old Plant No. 1 brewpub at 3690 Forest Park Avenue. The building is part of the century-old Falstaff brewing complex, and is an
important landmark in the proud tradition of St. Louis brewing.

(ABV: 5.7%, Bitterness Units: 37 IBU)

Brown Ale

A traditional English sesson ale, akin to a Mild or Bitter, the Brown Ale has medium body and lots of malt character with undertones of chocolate, perfect for the cool weather ahead. Coming in at 4.3% ABV it goes great with food and is easy to enjoy. The Brown Ale will be available through Mid December.

(ABV: 4.3%, Bitterness Units: 23 IBU)

Vanilla Porter

A familiar twist on a Six Row favorite! Our vanilla porter is a recreation of our usual delicious beverage with the addition of fresh vanilla beans directly into the fermentor. Before you had chocolaty, and malty, well now add to that the wonderful taste of vanilla beans! Great as a pairing to any of our desserts, as dessert, or as your main course!

(ABV: 5.5%, Bitterness Units: 36.7 IBU)

Killer Whale

This is the Second Anniversary Beer for Six Row Brewing Company. We took our Whale, a longtime favorite, and beefed it up into it’s “Killer” status of what essentially amounts to a barley wine equivalent. Deliciously strong, fruity, and floral, this beer is not to be taken lightly.

(ABV: 9% Bitterness Units: 62.8 IBU)

Seasonal Styles

(not currently on draught)

Centennial Rye

Much like an American-Style wheat beer, it is light, crisp, and refreshing, but with a twist: the use of rye malt, adding a nice, almost tart character to this seasonal brew. Unlike an IPA, it uses its namesake hop, Centennial, to add a citrus and grapefruit finish without overpowering the subtle spiciness of the rye. Perfect for warmer weather!

(ABV: 6.5%, Bitterness Units: 27 IBUs, Color: 5 SRM, Original Gravity: 13.7 Degrees Plato)

Cream Ale

Brewed in the same manner as an American Lager or a Kölsch, this ale style is light, dry, and perfect for hot summer weather. Our namesake “six row barley” is the primary influence in this brew, giving it the characteristic “grainy” aromas and light straw color. A long, cool, fermentation, followed by cold aging helps to create the clean, dry finish. A small amount of hops at the end of the boil lends slight herbal and grassy notes to finish off this perfect “lawnmower” beer.

(ABV: 4.70%, Bitterness Units: 17 IBUs, Color: 3.3 SRM, Original Gravity: 10.43 degrees Plato)

ESB

The ESB is a smooth and creamy traditional English ale with great malty characteristics and hop aroma; bitterness isn't the defining characteristic of this ale! Belonging to the Pale Ale group of beers, the Extra Special Bitter, or ESB, has a much more complex malt and hop character and a higher ABV than others in the group. We used traditional English pale ale malt combined with a substantial amount of both Fuggle and Goldings hops to make this beer well balanced and easy to drink. One of the favorites of the brewers.

(ABV: 4.47%, Bitterness Units: 33.7 IBUs, Color: 8.1, Original Gravity: 11.63 degrees Plato)

Belgian Dubbel

Inspired by the Trappist beers of Belgium, the Six Row Dubbel is a rich, malty interpretation of the style. Historically, the Dubbel is brewed to have a higher alcohol content (6-8%ABV) compared to other Belgian beers and can be compared to, but is still stronger, than a Brown Ale. Loads of dark fruit, caramel, and malt flavours dominate this early winter warmer. Just enough noble hop bitterness is added to balance out the sweetness and provide a bit of aroma. Serving the Dubbel in a snifter further enhances the aroma.

Foreign Extra Stout

Roasted barley, coffee, and dark fruit dominate the aroma of this high-gravity version of the traditional dry stout. Originally brewed for tropical markets, the Foreign Extra Stout is easy drinking due to its light body and dry finish. Don’t let the pitch-black color fool you; this is truly a “session” ale good for any season.

(ABV: 5.9%, Bitterness Units: 40 IBU, Color 40SRM, Original Gravity: 14.2 Degrees Plato)

Kolsch

Our Kolsch is a bright, light-bodied, moderately hopped golden ale/lager hybrid beer. We ferment and age it at lower temperatures than most of our ales to make it especially smooth, clean and refreshing. "Crisp" and "spritzy" are words that might come to mind when you try it.

(ABV: 4.42%, Bitterness Units: 27.1 IBUs, Color: 3.5, Original Gravity: 10.44 degrees Plato)

Extra Pale Ale

The Extra Pale Ale is a crisp, clean, dry and unmistakably hoppy American-style pale ale. We showcase citrusy Cascade hops from the American northwest for aroma and bittering. You'll enjoy an inviting aroma up front with a refined, smooth, bittering at the finish that doesn't overpower despite the IBU rating. It's "extra" pale because we use less caramel and more pale malt than your typical American pale ale. This imparts a lighter color with a sweet grain aroma and medium body.

(ABV: 6.08%, Bitterness Units: 40.3 IBUs, Color: 5.0, Original Gravity: 13.27 degrees Plato)

Wee Heavy

Our Wee Heavy, also known as Strong Scotch Ale, is malty with just enough hop bitterness to balance the sweetness. Traditional English malts and Fuggle hops combined with an extended boil (over 3 hours long) creates a complex aroma and wonderful deep color with a taste of caramel and hints of dark fruit. Served in a 10oz snifter for savoring.

(ABV: 7.7% , Bitterness Units: 25.8 IBU's, Color: 18, Original Gravity: 19.6 degrees Plato)

Fresh Hop Black IPA

This Fresh Hop Black IPA is big (8.0% ABV) and impressively hopped (70 IBUs). It is made with 35 lbs of fresh, whole Amarillo Hops flown in from Yakima Valley, Washington incorporated with several different brewing techniques. Ebony colored with a beige head, amazing citrusy, resinous hop character and roasty background, our Fresh Hop Black IPA is a "black" version of IPAs made famous by Pacific Northwest brewers. It is served in a 10oz snifter.

(ABV: 8.0%, Bitterness Units: 70 IBUs)

Heritage Festival Hefeweizen

Our Bavarian Hefeweizen is based on the festival beer from the 2010 St. Louis Brewer's Heritage Festival held in Forest Park. The original recipe for this Bavarian style Hefeweizen comes from Dave Roesch and Joe Orsa who received top honors for it at the St. Louis Brews Holiday Homebrew Competition. It is a cloudy, pale, refreshing beer with a subtle hop character and aroma and hints of banana and clove.

(ABV: 5.0%, Bitterness Units: 12.8 IBUs, Color: 3.7 SRM, Original Gravity: 12.50 degrees Plato)

Dunkelweizen

Six Row’s Dunkelweizen is a gorgeous mahogany colored wheat beer with a rich melanoidin character from Munich malt.  It has a slight spicy/fruity note which was carefully kept in check to maintain a nice balance with the malt.  If a regular Weizen beer isn't quite interesting enough for you, this is a great alternative.

(ABV: 5.1%, Bitterness Units: 16 IBUs, Color: 16.8, Original Gravity: 13.73 degrees Plato)
